Bill de Blasio has surged ahead in the latest polls outpacing Quinn

Brooklyn Council Member Vincent J. Gentile has endorsed New York City Public Advocate and Democrat Bill de Blasio for Mayor, citing his longstanding efforts to keep neighborhood health centers open in Brooklyn.
Council Member Vincent Gentile currently represents the 43rd District, encompassing Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and Bensonhurst.
“Bill de Blasio understands what residents in southern Brooklyn need: strong neighborhood schools, safe streets, and local community health centers. While others have stood idly by as hospitals threaten to shut down across this city, de Blasio has stood on the front lines and fought in the courts to keep these hospitals open,” Gentile, said. “We cannot overlook the basic needs of working and middle class New Yorkers — especially in the outer boroughs. Bill de Blasio will speak up for those who have been ignored for far too long.”

Council Member Gentile joins City Council Members Melissa Mark Viverito from East Harlem and Andy King from the Bronx as the third Council Member to endorse de Blasio this year.
